Data Deletion Instructions

These instructions explain how to request deletion of personal information held by Clip Canto Studio Inc., a Washington corporation operating under the Clip Canto Studio brand. They also explain how to disconnect Facebook or Meta services and request deletion of data associated with that integration.

Your Right to Deletion

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request deletion of personal information that we have collected about you. California residents may exercise deletion rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA). Individuals in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and other covered jurisdictions may have deletion rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or similar laws.

These rights may be subject to lawful exceptions. We will not discriminate against you for submitting a privacy request. If we cannot delete certain information, we will explain the applicable reason unless the law prevents us from doing so.

What We Delete

After verifying a valid request, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with the requester that is not required for an authorized business or legal purpose. Depending on your use of our services, this may include account profile information, contact details, connected social account identifiers, access tokens, integration settings, submitted support communications, saved project information, and technical records reasonably linked to your account.

Deletion is intended to remove the information from active systems. Residual copies may remain temporarily in secure backups until those backups are overwritten under our normal retention cycle. Information that has been aggregated or irreversibly de-identified so that it can no longer reasonably identify you may be retained.

What We May Retain

We may retain limited records when reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, prevent fraud or abuse, document consent and privacy requests, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. We may also retain transaction-related, tax, accounting, and corporate records for the periods required by applicable law. Retained information is restricted to the relevant purpose and is not used for unrelated marketing.

How to Request Deletion

Send your request to [email protected] with the subject “Data Deletion Request.” Please include:

  1. Your full name and the email address associated with your Clip Canto Studio account or interaction.
  2. A clear statement that you want your personal information deleted.
  3. The services, account, project, or integration involved, if known.
  4. If the request concerns Facebook or Meta, your Facebook name and the app-scoped user ID or other account identifier shown to you, if available.
  5. Your country and state or region of residence so we can apply the appropriate privacy requirements.

Please do not send passwords, payment card numbers, government identification numbers, or other unnecessary sensitive information.

Data from Facebook or Meta

To remove the Clip Canto Studio integration from Facebook, open Facebook Settings, select Apps and Websites, locate Clip Canto Studio, and choose Remove. Menu names may vary by device or Meta account type.

Removing the integration stops future access through that connection but may not automatically delete information previously provided to us. To request deletion of associated data, also email us using the instructions above. Identify the request as relating to Facebook or Meta so we can locate the relevant records and connected account identifiers.

Verification

To protect users from unauthorized deletion, we may verify that you control the relevant email address or account. We may ask for limited additional information that reasonably matches our records. Authorized agents must provide evidence of authority, and we may still contact the account holder directly to verify identity and authorization.

Timeline

We will confirm receipt of a deletion request within seven days. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days. If additional time is reasonably required because of request complexity, backup processes, or legal obligations, we will provide an update explaining the delay and expected completion date.
